Soap Opera Casting For The Week of August 22, 2022

Here’s a list of the top exit and entrance news from all four daytime dramas. Find out if any of your favorite performers from yesteryear are returning to the shows you follow, or if any new actors or actresses have been cast in contract, recurring, or day-player roles.

The Bold and the Beautiful

A top star is leaving The Bold and the Beautiful. Rena Sofer has opted not to renew her contract with the soap opera and is exiting her role as Quinn Fuller Forrester. Sofer, who has played Quinn since 2013, will make her final appearance later this month.

Naomi Matsuda returns as Dr. Li Finnegan on Thursday, August 25, while Steven Christopher Parker pops back in as Deacon Sharpe’s (Sean Kanan) parole officer, Jordan, on Monday, August 22. Also, Hollis W. Chambers serves up more drinks as Paul, the bartender at Il Giardino, on Friday, August 26.

On the kids front, Sophia Paras McKinlay is back as Kelly Spencer on Wednesday, August 24 and Thursday, August 24 and 25. Remington Blaire Evans had briefly stepped in as the character during Evans’ absence. Also, Cooper and Miles Kilian air as Hayes Finnegan on Wednesday and Thursday, August 24 and 25.

General Hospital

A major leading lady is leaving General Hospital, too. Word is Kelly Thiebaud’s run as Dr. Britt Westbourne will be wrapping up in a matter of months; reportedly, in November. The actress is set to reprise her role as Eva Vasquez on the upcoming sixth season of the primetime series Station 19. Thiebaud has portrayed Britt on and off since 2012.

The Young and the Restless

Aaron Schwartz is joining The Young and the Restless as Lucas, a mysterious new character who arrives in Genoa City to work on an assignment for Adam Newman (Mark Grossman). He’ll air on Wednesday, August 23, and Thursday, August 25. Schwartz previously portrayed Vanya on the primetime series Gossip Girl.

Zuleyka Silver has been cast as Audra Charles, a new executive summoned to Genoa City by one of its business icons. She’ll debut on the soap opera next month.

Also, Paxton Mishkind is taking over the role of Johnny Abbott. Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) new son will premiere in September.

Days of our Lives

A pair of power attorneys are back on the scene at Days of our Lives. Tina Huang returns as cutthroat DA Melinda Trask on Thursday, August 25. She’ll interact with Emily O’Brien’s Gwen Rizczech and Greg Rikaart’s Leo Stark.

Also, Jessica Serfaty, who debuted on the soap opera as Sloan last week, airs again on Monday, August 22. She’ll share scenes with her client, Greg Rikaart’s Leo, as well as Galen Gering’s Rafe Hernandez.

B&B is one of four soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include Days of our Lives (DOOL), General Hospital (GH), and The Young and the Restless (YR). The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
