David Tanaka and Aaron Brennan’s bedroom scene, a Neighbours fan favourite, was “edited short” for the show’s UK airing.
In the programme that aired on Channel 5 on Wednesday, July 20, the pair shared their first night in bed.
The soap’s story editor Shane Isheev later announced on Twitter that the scene had been “cut short,” much to the disappointment of fans who had been eagerly awaiting a bedroom scene between David and Aaron.
Isheev tweeted screenshots of the scene that he had shared via a fan’s tweet “I can attest that this was done for you and the numerous others who asked. Additionally, I can attest that the scene was shortened in the UK.
“I hope Australia gets to see the whole thing because the version I watched was rather raunchy.”
Channel 5 has been contacted for comment.
Isheev had previously mentioned on Twitter in July that viewers would be able to see into David and Aaron’s bedroom.
David’s actor Takaya Honda later told Digital Spy that he was looking forward to the couple’s bedroom moment but was unable to say whether or not viewers will “get what they desire.”
He said, “I can’t wait until David and Aaron get a bedroom. “David has only ever slept in Rafael and I’s penthouse bedroom. It’s good to see the bedroom again since that scene with him was so lovely.
It remains to be seen whether the fans will receive what they desire from the bedroom.
Weekly episodes of Neighbours air at 1.45 and 6 o’clock on Channel 5 and online at My5. The series finale will air on Channel 5 at 9 p.m. on July 29 in the UK.
